Coalescence separatorshome
The coalescence separators are applied for separation of petroleum derivative compounds from gravity-flowing rainwater and process water in a separate sewerage system before discharging to drainage systemThe separation of oil derivatives occurs during horizontal flow of polluted waters through oilphilic layer. This is called coalescence process - joining of oil microdrops into bigger drops. They may increase their climb rate and surface. Then the cleaned water is directed to receiver.
Coalescence separators consist of coalescence separation systems. These devices have a protective installation - self-acting closure of outflow when collected pollutants achieve definite level in tank. Maximum storage capacity of petroleum derivative compounds results from rated hydraulic flow size.
The coalescence separators must cooperate with sand traps (e.g. sand trap integrated with separator in one tank or separate sand trap located before separator.
The sand trap should be adjusted to maximum flow. Separated oil derivatives are removed from coalescence separator by using special sewage removal truck equipped with a soft hose. The same equipment may be used for sludge removal from sand trap.
